I recently made an oc, how can I make him better? (Im terms of design)

So, I’m pretty new to being a furry in the sense of creating things. Most of the furries I’ve drawn end up looking too stiff, generic or give off ‘uncanny valley’ energy and I’m not sure why. Any tips?
