Is it a bad idea to give a fursuit for a birthday?

So my friends birthday is coming up (turning 18‼️‼️‼️‼️) and I wanted to possibly make a fursuit for them. Their birthday isn’t until a while from now, and I just wanted to hear YOUR opinions. Idk. Should I do it?
