My boyfriend made me a furry.

Yep, that’s it. That’s the post. I started dating my boyfriend about 6 months ago, he didn’t tell me that he was a furry at the time but he was making a lot of jokes about furries so I was a bit suspicious. I wasn’t a furry when I started dating him.

Well, one night when we were talking about furries he just straight up told me that he was a furry, and then sent me a whole bunch of pictures of his fursona and started telling me about him! I wasn’t weirded out, or mad, or disappointed, if anything I was just shocked because I thought he hated furries. I’ve never hated furries, I didn’t like them in 2019 but became neutral because tbh they aren’t hurting anyone.

So, even though I was surprised at first, I quickly accepted this part of him and I was happy he trusted me enough to tell me that, even knowing how much stigma there is around being a furry. I listened to him talk about his character, always looked at every furry subreddit post he sent me and I always supported him, even if I didn’t know much about furry culture. Well, over time I slowly started to learn more and more about furries and the community from him. I found it so interesting and compelling since I’ve always liked creating my own characters and been interested in anthro animals and stuff, I decided early on that I’d be a bunny, and before I knew it he was helping me create my fursona. I love him so much and am so grateful he helped me embrace this side of myself.
